Top up your water for free while cutting down on plastic use, thanks to Adur & Worthing Councils! 🌊🌊🌊

We’re working with community organisation Worthing Climate Action network, to develop a local ‘Refill Worthing’ Scheme to help reduce plastic waste.

The national Refill campaign is an initiative making a splash by providing places we can fill our drinking water bottles instead of buying a new one.

Using the Refill app anyone with a smartphone can quickly see where they can top up their bottle free, or if you don’t have a smartphone look out for the round Refill logo sticker in participating shops and venues.

The councils have posted over 20 Refill stations across Adur and Worthing on the Refill app where people can refill their bottles. These include Worthing Town Hall and Portland House.

We also have a string of beach taps that offer free drinking water.

The aim is cut down on plastic as in the UK 44% of plastic bottles we use are not recycled.

Everyone can get involved by finding ways to reduce plastic waste, or by offering a ‘Refill Station’ on the Refill app or by recruiting retail outlets and venues to sign up as a ‘Refill station’.
