Tomorrow Adur & Worthing Councils staff will be joining with the community to take part in the first ever Worthing Pride.
Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the parade on Worthing seafront, which starts at 1pm outside the Burlington Hotel. The procession ends at Beach House Park where entertainment will be held for the rest of the afternoon.
Among those taking part in the parade will be Councils staff, who will unite behind a special banner to march alongside other members of the community.
One of those involved is senior customer services advisor Amber Kentfield, who explains why she is taking part.
She said: “We are all happy to give up our free time for this event to spread the message that Adur & Worthing is a part of the Pride message of ‘Diversity and Dreams’.
“Our creativity as a team has been let loose as we have all gone to work on the banner which we will be holding proudly. We all wanted to incorporate our logo with a rainbow flag to support Pride and bring attention to our message: supporting diversity in our community.
“Our staff will be wearing t-shirts with colours of the rainbow along with our very own A&W badges. We will be using face paint and glitter to stand out from the crowd as well as handing out flags and wristbands to the crowd.
“So make sure to keep an eye out for us, dancing along with the crowd supporting Diversity and Dreams and give us a wave!
