Time is running out for organisations with a proven track-record of giving something back to bid to take on the running of Eastbrook Community Centre in Adur.

Adur & Worthing Councils own a number of community buildings and, as opportunities arise, will be looking to lease them to not-for-profit organisations to ensure the important facilities thrive.

A 15-year lease is being considered for the community centre in Fishersgate with peppercorn rent an option for organisations that can demonstrate a social return.

Bids must be received by Tuesday (May 7).

A council spokesman said: “Eastbrook Manor is a valuable asset for local residents and the wider community – and meeting their needs, wants and expectations are essential.

“We’re looking for organisations with sound experience, leadership and passion to take on a new lease and be the driver of good things in, and with, the local communities.”
