Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at Brooklands Park during the summer holidays!
It’s been great to see so many people come and share this open space, and make some memories.
We’ve built bug hotels, made seed bombs, fairy fires, magic wands, dream catchers and created felt designs.
We’ve whittled wood, learnt circus skills, how to tie-dye and how to slackline.
We’ve shared cake, fireside snacks, honey tasting and a huge community picnic!
While the holidays are coming to an end Brooklands Park is still there to enjoy, the cycle track, the amphitheatre, watching the butterflies and bees in the wild flowers or spotting the fish, ducks and terrapin in the lake!
The Council will be spending an additional £2m over the next three years to develop Brooklands Park into a new Adventure Park with emphasis on learning about science and the natural environment through fun, play and exploration.
As well as a new cafe and lakeside picnicking area and improved walks and fitness trails, there will be areas for outdoor events and community activities, community gardens and an adventure play area.
