Plans for 14 new industrial units on Shoreham Harbour have been approved in principle by Adur District Council.
Shoreham Port Authority is behind the plans to create the three blocks at Lady Bee Marina, just off the A259 coast road in Southwick.
Along with 1,275sqm of business and distribution space, 37 car parking spaces and a cycle store for 24 bicycles will be created.
Adur District Council’s planning committee approved the proposal at a meeting held in the Shoreham Centre last night (March 26, 2018).
Planners said that due to the site’s close location to the water, it was recommended finished floor levels are proposed to be raised by 300mm above the climate change flood level.
Councillors said that permission relied on the applicant agreeing a sustainable transport contribution to offset the traffic impacts of the development.
