Much needed affordable housing is being created in Worthing.
A former pub in the town is being converted into 17 flats supporting those at risk of homelessness.
Worthing Borough Council bought The Downview in Tarring Road last year to provide accommodation for some of the most vulnerable people and families in our area.
Planning permission had already been granted to convert the premises into 9 flats and ground floor commercial unit, with 4 houses built on the car park.
This week Worthing Borough Council's Planning Committee approved plans to take this one stage further, replacing the previously proposed 4 houses with 8 more additional flats.
