Meet Emma and her lovely family, husband Ian and their two children, Evie and Ralph. Emma works here at Guild Care and her whole family are excited to be getting involved in our next event, the Pedal on the Prom!

“We love getting involved in Guild Care events! My Nan attended Guild Care Centre, she was introduced to Guild Care as earlier that year she broke her wrist, and used the Home from Hospital service for 6 weeks to assist with her settling back into her home. They were fantastic! They suggested the Guild Care day centre services as unfortunately, like many older people, she could often get lonely during weekdays when we are at work and at times felt quite isolated. So she started to go to Guild Care for company and friendship, and that is exactly what she found. We saw first-hand the difference Guild Care can make, providing a lifeline to those who need it the most.

From then we have always looked to support the charity and the Pedal on the Prom is a great way to get the whole family involved. The ride is great for all abilities and can be done leisurely or even with a hint of family competitiveness. We have done it for a couple of years now, starting when our youngest, Ralph, was still in a seat on the back of his dads bike to. This year will be the first year Ralph will be cycling it himself, so he is very excited!

Once we have completed the bike ride we will definitely be going to sampling a pizza from The Pizza Oven and maybe even treat the kids (and us!) to a large ice-cream. It’s lovely knowing that things like this can make a real difference to help other people like my Nan in our community.”

If you fancy a great family day out like Emma and her family or even an excuse to do some exercise, while helping to support your local charity, why not come along to this year’s Pedal on the Prom. We would love to see you there.
