Big thanks to everyone who attended the public Brooklands Park meeting this week. If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry; here’s a brief summary of the discussion…

– A noticeboard has now been fitted at our park after the request from the Friends of Brooklands group. You can expect to see both community and development updates on the board.

– Works on the Teville stream have also been completed in recent weeks. A footpath has been removed, the riverbank has been graded and coir pallets have been fitted alongside the steam. All of this will contribute to helping bring in a diverse selection of wildlife to our park.

– A variety of tree species will be planted across the multiple islands now formed in the lake; including hawthorn, hazel, gorse and more.

– Materials have been ordered for the boardwalk that will be located on the south side of the lake, these will be fitted in the coming weeks by Worthing Borough Council’s contractors Five Rivers Environmental Contracting Ltd.

Five Rivers will return to site on the 4th June to complete the remaining works and will then call by the park every so often with maintenance of the development ongoing for the next two years.
