Did you know more than 50% of what we put in our general waste bins can be recycled or reduced?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Food makes up nearly 30% of what we throw away. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿง€๐Ÿ•๐Ÿฅ—๐ŸŒญ

That's followed by plastics, paper and glass which makes up nearly 20% and could be recycled! โ™ป๏ธ

Garden bits, textiles and electrical rubbish are also found in the general waste bin, and they can also be recycled! ๐Ÿ™Œ

From September most of us will see our general refuse collected one week and our recycling the next week.

Over 75% of councils in the UK have now moved to alternate weekly collections and many have seen a reduction in waste and an increase in recycling by up to 7% ๐Ÿšฎ

This week your refuse team will deliver the first of three information leaflets door-to-door, with all households reached by the end of the month. ๐Ÿ˜

The leaflet is a reminder about the upcoming alternate weekly bin service.

Two further leaflets will be delivered in July and August, with the second including a personalised calendar of new bin collection dates.
