Big thanks to The Worthing Society and Storm Ministries for helping spruce up one of the oldest streets in Worthing.
As part of a push to preserve the town’s heritage for future generations, Worthing Borough Council is working with groups across the town to focus on the South Street Conservation Area.
A key area is Bedford Row – and this week volunteers from Storm and the Worthing Society have been tidying up the historic street.
This included picking up litter, scrubbing graffiti off walls and clearing weeds from pathways.
Susan Belton, Chairman of The Worthing Society: “It’s a beautiful area, it’s the old regency part of the town, and it has a layout of old twittens which were the original lanes of Worthing.
“I’m very proud to say that all sections of the community are helping us.
“I very much hope to recreate the pride in this regency part of the town, for visitors and tourists alike. We are preserving our heritage for the future generations.”
