An application to create some of the first council housing in Adur for 30 years has been formally submitted.
Adur District Council is behind the proposal for Cecil Norris House site in Ravens Road, Shoreham.
The plan will see the disused 1970s block which was used as retirement housing demolished and replaced with a new modern block providing 15 affordable homes for Adur Homes tenants.
Liam Russell, the architect behind the plans, said: "The development will result in an enduring positive legacy for Adur District Council and Shoreham providing much needed up-to-date affordable housing stock."
A decision on the proposal is set to be made by the start of March.
