A decision on plans for up to 240 homes in West Durrington will be made by Worthing Borough Council’s planning committee on Wednesday (December 6).
The proposals for the 10 hectare site to the south of Arundel Road in Worthing have been brought forward by West Durrington Northern Sector Consortium.
As well as the properties, plans include access roads; pedestrian and cycle routes; parking; park land; and sustainable drainage features, such as a pond.
If approved, up to 72 of the houses will be affordable housing, with 70 per cent of these being made available under affordable rent.
Access to the site would be from the south, where 700 new homes are under construction.
To the north, a three-metre bund would be built to separate the development from the A27.
Council planning officers have recommended the application be approved at the planning meeting in the Gordon Room in Worthing Town Hall from 6.30pm.
