A charity supporting offering help and support to bereaved parents has received a £5,000 boost thanks to Worthing Crematorium.
The Worthing Borough Council-run service donated the money after receiving funds from the national recycling scheme run by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM).
This sees residual metals, such as those found within the coffin and orthopaedic implants such as knee and hip joints, collected following a cremation. They are then recycled in accordance to strict Environment Agency guidelines.
This year Worthing Crematorium staff decided to support Brighton and Worthing Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death charity, which is a group of volunteers offering help and support to bereaved parents in Brighton & Hove and Worthing.
