Plans for a state-of-the-art care home have been approved by Worthing Borough Council’s planning committee.
The proposal will see the existing Sussex Clinic building in Shelley Road demolished and replaced with a contemporary 62-bedroom facility.
It will also include a basement with inner courtyard area, landscaping to rear and associated parking.
Those behind the scheme claim it will provide an “exciting and innovative building of quality” which will “supplement and complement the identified need in providing care for the elderly, fragile and vulnerable”.
Approval, which was granted at at town hall meeting last night, is subject to a range of conditions being met.
