Rogue Landlords could now face up to £30k penalty notices to tackle substandard housing

Tough new measures to crack down on rogue landlords in Adur and Worthing have been unveiled.
The Councils say that the majority of private sector landlords operate lawfully and provide much needed accommodation in the area but a small minority of rogue landlords will face action.

They could now be hit with fines of up to £30,000 among a string of other measures to give renters in the private sector more protection.

Adur & Worthing Councils have adopted the new policy amid the ever-increasing number of complaints against some private sector landlords and increased action by the Private Sector Housing enforcement team.
