Mayor of Worthing Alex Harman says he is lost from words after receiving a very generous donation.
Councillor Harman met with Maurice Adams, of the Sussex Freemasons, for tea in the mayor’s parlour this afternoon.
During the meeting, Mr Adams gave the Cllr Harman a cheque for just over £1,500 which go towards the mayor’s three chosen charities for the year: Ashdown Centre Guild Care, Worthing Mencap and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Mr Adams, president of the Grand Lodge of the Sussex Freemasons, said: “A key part of what we do is supporting some of the amazing charities and organisations in our area and I’m delighted that we can make this contribution to the mayor’s charities for the coming year.”
Councillor Alex Harman, mayor of Worthing, said: “I’m extremely grateful for the donation and very thankful to Maurice for their support. I’m completely overwhelmed by their generosity.”
